How do I make a counselling appointment?

What will happen in the first counselling session?

In your first intake session, your therapist will be looking forward to meeting you and getting to know who you are and what you want out of your life. Administratively, the therapist will also go through any forms or information they need, and will explain their professional duties around things like confidentiality and consent. Your therapist will likely structure out most of the first session getting acquainted with you, your goals and things like family background, mental health history and general environment. From there, they’ll probably work with you to create clear goals around what you’ll work on together in the sessions, to keep therapy focused on the right things for you.

This practice is located in the Avanti Health Centre in Clinic Room 4, within the Gold Coast Surgery Centre.

Parking

There is ample designated parking under the Gold Coast Surgery Centre. Use the adjacent up ramp to the open-air parking on weekends. You will exit the lift directly into the Avanti gym space. Please take a seat in the lounge area and your therapist will come and get you.

Tram route GCR1 has a stop within a 1-minute walk of the practice. Bus routes 700 and 735 have stops within a 2-minute walk of the practice.
