Free vs. Low Cost Counselling Services

For free counselling services, typically you will need to go through a government funded or not-for-profit organisation. These services include charities, churches, community support groups, local councils and various telephone hotlines.

Although Life Supports is not a free service, we do offer a range of affordable options where a minimal out of pocket expense is required. In some specific cases bulk billing may apply.

Low cost counselling

Life Supports has low cost services available in a number of our locations.  To find an affordable service in your local area, you can speak to a Life Supports intake consultant, who can provide you with further information to suit your needs.

At Life Supports, we offer:

  • Highly experienced, qualified, competent and quality assured counsellors and psychologists who are experts within their area of practice.
  • A range of suitable appointment times including morning, afternoon, evening and weekend appointments, depending on the opening hours of the practice near you.
  • Flexible availabilities. In some cases, appointments within 48 hours can be accommodated.
  • Face-to-face, telephone and skype counselling to accommodate for a variety of individual circumstances.

In order to minimise your expenditure, you will need to be registered with Medicare and obtain a Mental Health Care Plan from your local GP. Alternatively, some private health insurance policies offer subsidies for counselling services – as every policy differs, you will need to contact your provider directly to ask if you are covered. Without Medicare or private health insurance, the full fee for counselling services will be required.
