What should you expect from a counselling session?
Counselling sessions are generally one hour long, and focus upon:
- gaining insight into what’s happening in your life that’s causing you difficulty
- supporting you to make healthy changes that improve your personal circumstances or relationships
- working towards psychological wellbeing, fulfilling relationships and a balanced family life
We are often asked how many sessions will be required. This varies depending on the unique circumstances of each individual, couple or family. You’re welcome to talk to your counsellor or psychologist about how long they believe it will take for you to achieve the change you want to make.
Most Life Supports accredited counselors and psychologists are able to provide a private health and Medicare rebate. To ensure that you’re able to claim a rebate on your session, please discuss this with our intake counsellor when you contact Life Supports.
