What happens in a counselling session?
Each counselling session is an average of one hour in duration, and primarily focuses on:
- Gaining an understanding of the difficulties you may be facing in your life
- Supporting you in making vital changes that improve your personal circumstances and relationships
- Helping you maintain psychological wellbeing, fulfilling relationships and a balanced family life
We are often asked how many counselling sessions will be required. This varies depending on the circumstances of each individual, couple or family. You’re welcome to talk to your counsellor or psychologist about how long they believe it will take for you to achieve the positive changes you’d like to make.
Flexible appointment times
Our counsellors also offer flexible appointment times, including after-hours and weekend appointments in many locations throughout Adelaide.
Most Life Supports accredited counsellors and psychologists are able to provide a private health and Medicare rebate. To ensure that you’re able to claim a rebate on your session, please discuss this with one of our intake counsellors when you contact Life Supports.
