How do I make a counselling appointment?

What will happen in the first counselling session?

In your first intake session, your therapist will be looking forward to meeting you and getting to know who you are and what you want out of your life. Administratively, the therapist will also go through any forms or information they need, and will explain their professional duties around things like confidentiality and consent. Your therapist will likely structure out most of the first session getting acquainted with you, your goals and things like family background, mental health history and general environment. From there, they’ll probably work with you to create clear goals around what you’ll work on together in the sessions, to keep therapy focused on the right things for you.

The practice is located within a shared practice called "Beingwell" which is located on the corner of East Boundary Road and Bellevue Road in Bentleigh East, approximately halfway between the main roads of Centre Road and South Road. The reception area is usually unstaffed so please take a seat in the waiting area and Lucy will greet you at the time of your appointment.

Parking

Free unrestricted parking is available on both East Boundary and Bellevue Roads. Entry is via the gate on the corner.

Bus routes 701 and 822 have stops within a 3 minute walk of the practice and 824 has stops within a an 8 minute walk of the practice.
