What will happen in the first counselling session?

In your first intake session, your therapist will be looking forward to meeting you and getting to know who you are and what you want out of your life. Administratively, the therapist will also go through any forms or information they need, and will explain their professional duties around things like confidentiality and consent. Your therapist will likely structure out most of the first session getting acquainted with you, your goals and things like family background, mental health history and general environment. From there, they’ll probably work with you to create clear goals around what you’ll work on together in the sessions, to keep therapy focused on the right things for you.

This practice is located on Bank Rd off the Nepean Hwy. There are two buildings on the property. Unit 2 is beige/brown in colour, it is visible from the road, located behind the front yellow building. Entrance to the practice is on Bank Road through the main gate. Please use the front entrance which is the only entrance visible.

Parking is free on the side roads all around including on Nepean Highway.

The property is 2 minutes from the Edithvale Train Station and Nepean Highway. Bus routes 706 and 858 have stops within a 3 minute walk of the practice.
