Sue Jensen has over 15 years’ experience working as a counsellor and works with individuals, couples and families presenting with a wide range of presenting concerns. Sue tailors her work according to the therapeutic needs of each client.  Sue’s experience has provided a deep understanding of relationship dynamics across the lifespan. She is registered with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) as a clinical counsellor.

Sue has a highly supportive approach towards her clients, understanding that they are at a difficult crossroads in their life when they come to counselling. She is client-focused, believing that they are the expert in their story but sometimes need support when life throws down challenges. Sue uses an eclectic range of tools and therapies to guide the client to greater awareness that will empower them to make the life changes they desire. Sue has extensive experience working as a relationship counsellor using Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) which is a structured, evidence-based approach to strengthen connection, communication and build emotional safety. Sue believes relationships are at the heart of everything we do and that disagreements are natural because no two people are the same. She provides practical support and works with each client to identify problematic patterns that keep playing out to create a blueprint for change.

Sue takes a planned, individualised approach to therapy, drawing on a broad range of skills and therapeutic interventions to meet specific needs that arise in sessions. Her focus is person-centred and she combines Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy with a strengths-based and solution-focused approach. Sue offers a warm and caring environment and has a proven track record of achieving meaningful outcomes.

Sue is passionate about supporting clients to navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity and confidence. Working with Sue means that her clients learn practical skills, develop deeper self awareness, and gain tools to proactively navigate hard times which leads to clients being more empowered and in control of their own life.
