Stephen Peterson is a distinguished counsellor with many years’ experience in the counselling field. He holds membership with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia and provides services for teenagers, adults, couples, and families presenting with a wide range of concerns.

Stephen utilises evidence-based frameworks during practice that promote healthy exploration, reflective thinking, and open discussions. His belief is that each person has their own unique social and emotional profile. He therefore utilises an integrative approach that is extremely important in paving the way for an adaptive sense of analysing and thinking when working through challenges. Stephen guides clients through their thoughts, emotions and experiences and helps organise their mental processes to alleviate the day-to-day stresses and anxieties. These techniques ultimately lead to an improvement in relationships and self-value for his clients.

Stephen is a strong advocate for exploring past experiences and how they shape us into who we are, what we feel, and how we are today. He does this in a manner that also addresses current presenting issues. By offering practical and informative sessions, he aims to reduce the effects of his clients’ challenges by providing coping mechanisms and psychoeducation. Consequently, the environment that Stephen offers helps guide his clients through their thoughts freely and safely, empowering them to make the right decisions, and build their self-esteem.
