Rowena Harris is a highly regarded counsellor who has extensive experience working with clients across a broad range of presenting concerns. Rowena holds membership with the Australian Counselling Association. As well as her work as a counsellor, Rowena is involved in group facilitation in a range of settings.
The main focus of her role is supporting clients to truly move forward well in their lives. Rowena is insightful and passionate about providing counselling that empowers clients to make long-lasting changes in their lives. Through a collaborative and engaging approach, she guides her clients using a person-centred approach, which promotes awareness and understanding of their individual circumstances, empowering them to bring about positive change. She supports clients with practical guidance and strategies to address their situations of concern.
The modalities Rowena uses include Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Hypnotherapy (focusing on behaviour change). Rowena believes that people's emotions and the situations they find themselves in are often rooted and connected to an individual’s early experiences that have been formed, especially from childhood. Therefore, they innately shape an individual’s response and understanding of both their internal and external view of the world they live in and of one’s own self.
