Rebecca Hood is a highly accomplished and experienced counsellor who holds registration with the Australian Counselling Association.  Rebecca gets great results with her clients and works with clients with a wide range of presenting concerns. She is dedicated to assisting adolescents and adults of all ages to meet their challenges and goals by connecting with their own value and priorities, so that they can develop effective, meaningful solutions and pathways forward.

Rebecca recognises the importance of self-awareness and self-acceptance as the basis for transforming problems and patterns. She comes alongside clients, listening non-judgementally, and exploring challenges and hopes through questions and processes that open up understanding and broaden options for communication, action and positive change. Her warm, conversational style focuses on exploring each client’s unique experiences, and identifying the practical steps that will lead to desired outcomes.

Rebecca takes a broad approach, unpacking experiences, thoughts and emotions, using both talking and body-centred modalities. She integrates tools and reflective processes from various therapeutic models, including Solution-Focused, Cognitive-Behavioural, Person-Centred and Narrative therapies. She also draws on her knowledge of the mind-body connection to provide clients with practical strategies for nervous system regulation and stress reduction, especially where trauma and anxiety are present. She holds a highly supportive and respectful space, meeting people where they stand, and assisting them to move beyond current problems into new territory.
