Nigel Joseph is a highly accomplished counsellor with over 15 years of experience in the field. He brings extensive expertise in supporting people through major life challenges and understanding their enduring effects on thoughts, emotions, and relationships. Nigel’s work is informed by neuroscience, and a deep understanding of how the brain and nervous system respond and adapt to stress, adversity, and emotional strain.
Nigel believes that people often develop patterns of thinking, feeling, and responding as ways of adapting to challenging circumstances. While these patterns can be protective, they can often persist and negatively influence how they experience themselves, their relationships, and the world around them. He works to help people identify and understand these patterns, and develop new ways of responding that foster stability, resilience, and lasting psychological change.
Nigel takes an integrative and highly considered approach to therapy, drawing on well-established, evidence-based methods including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Radical Exposure Tapping.
This approach enables therapy to be individually tailored to each person’s unique experience while applying methods proven to achieve meaningful and lasting change.
