Maria Henkel

Maria Henkel is a highly qualified and accomplished counsellor with many years of experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. She is a member of the Australian Counselling Association, and in addition to counselling, Maria provides professional supervision to other counsellors.

Maria possesses an unwavering belief in her clients’ ability to make positive changes in their own lives and acknowledges the importance of guidance, support, and the right tools to achieve growth. Through a collaborative approach, Maria is therefore committed to supporting clients in identifying their personal values and discovering how their values may fit into everyday life and relationships. By understanding how difficult it can be to overcome life’s challenges at times, Maria offers a space for her clients to be themselves.

Working within evidence-based frameworks is important to Maria, as this guarantees that the strategies and techniques used have been proven to work. Most of all, Maria likes to collaborate with clients to see what works for their unique needs. Some of Maria’s preferred modalities are Solution-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Narrative Therapy. Maria’s practice is focused on supporting people to be inspired and empowered to live the life they hope for.
