Julie Hamilton is a warm and experienced counsellor, who supports people through a wide range of life challenges towards healing, growth, wellbeing and happiness. She’s registered with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia and works with adolescents, adults, couples, children and families.
Julie cares deeply about supporting her clients to make meaningful, positive and lasting changes in their lives - in ways that truly work for them. She listens to their concerns in a respectful, non-judgemental space and works with them to discover their own solutions to the problems they’re facing, while providing effective tools and strategies to help them with the process. Julie's sessions are tailored to meet each client’s personal needs - understanding that everyone has a unique story and circumstances. Her approach is always person centred and collaborative to find the best way forward.
Insightful, dynamic and outcome-focused, Julie believes that by understanding ourselves and how and why we react to what life throws at us, that we can respond in ways that lead to better results in the areas we care about: That it’s possible to combat anxiety, stress and self-doubt and grow resilience, motivation and a positive outlook through change and tough times. Julie works with a range of evidence-based therapies, including Gestalt Therapy, Attachment Based Therapy, Trauma Based Therapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, and Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy. Through this holistic and compassionate approach, and with a lot of lived experience, Julie helps her clients deepen their relationships with themselves and others, so they can live in ways that are meaningful for them.
