Ian Gray is an insightful and passionate counsellor with over twenty-seven years in the field. Ian works effectively with individuals, couples, and families, supporting them to make lasting changes in their lives and relationships.

Ian is committed to helping his clients draw on their unique strengths by building a therapeutic alliance through exploring their issues with compassion and curiosity. He creates a supportive environment where clients are encouraged to focus on self-care and well-being, but at times, to challenge themselves and move beyond their comfort zones. This approach allows him to bear witness to painful experiences and be curious about experiences that bring insight and purpose to life. Consequently, his clients can navigate to a sweet spot where challenges aren’t so overwhelming and opportunities for change and growth can begin to emerge. As a result, Ian’s clients can find creative and effective strategies to respond to the inevitable challenges of life.

Ian draws on a range of counselling approaches in his practice, tailoring his sessions to meet the unique needs of each individual or couple. These include Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Trauma-Informed Therapy and Family Systems Therapy. Ian finds it a privilege to work in a collaborative alliance with clients as they find ways to cope, adjust, survive, grow, and change – sometimes all at once.
