Heather King is a highly regarded and insightful counsellor who has been in practice for many years. She is a member of the Australian Counselling Association and supports adolescents, adults, and couples presenting with a wide range of concerns. Heather brings a deep understanding of how vulnerable it can feel to seek counselling and helps clients to feel comfortable and thrive in sessions and life.
To help her clients feel comfortable, Heather uses an inclusive approach that honours each person's identity and mindfully allows for the role past trauma can play. She offers a non-judgemental space to explore the challenges that her clients bring. By gaining insight into underlying patterns, clients build practical strategies to navigate difficult emotions, thereby creating lasting positive change and personal growth.
Each session with Heather is guided by her client’s individual goals. She takes a broad approach that connects body and mind, drawing on evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Gottman Method Couples Therapy. Through this collaborative process, Heather empowers clients to move through concerns, restore balance, and achieve meaningful wellbeing.
