Gillian Ford is a highly accomplished, skilled, and dedicated counsellor who has worked in the field since 2008. She is passionate about working with individuals and families and has many years of experience working with children and parents.
Gill brings her innate warmth and unconditional positive regard for her clients to the counselling room where she works with clients who have a broad range of issues and challenges. Gill draws on her knowledge of families, trauma, attachment, and strengths-based counselling, to empower clients to access their inner resources and to explore solutions to their problems. She believes that a counselling environment must promote the emotional and physical safety of the client as this is paramount in supporting the client to examine their challenges. Gill fosters this safety by developing positive, trusting, and transparent relationships with clients and by implementing a collaborative for her clients to achieve their goals.
Gill has a very practical approach to counselling, exploring strategies with clients and psychoeducational support. She uses a range of modalities in her work including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Mindfulness. Gill believes that counselling offers clients an opportunity to be heard and really understood and is the start of a journey of self-discovery.
