Elley Turvey is a registered professional counsellor who holds registration with the Australian Counselling Association. She holds a Master of Counselling and has advanced training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and somatic approaches to addressing trauma. With many years of experience, Elley works with adults, couples, families, adolescents, children and older adults presenting with a wide range of concerns.
Elley is warm and highly engaging, creating a grounded and highly supportive space where clients are encouraged to explore what’s really going on. Emotional freedom and peace lie at the heart of her approach. She integrates somatic psychotherapy to help clients who feel stuck, overwhelmed or disconnected, including those who found conventional therapy didn’t fully resolve deeper distress. Her motto, “To inspire others, don’t show them your superpowers, show them theirs”, reflects her commitment to helping clients discover their own strength and wisdom. Elley is passionate about walking alongside her clients to gain emotional clarity, improve relationships and cultivate a life that is authentic and meaningful. Through her approach, clients learn to approach themselves with kindness and recognise their struggles as normal and universal. Elley tailors therapy duration to individual needs, whether short-term or longer-term, ensuring genuine value for your investment of time and money.
Elley uses contemporary evidence-based approaches tailored to each person’s unique therapeutic needs, including Emotion-Focused Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Somatic Therapy. With couples and families, Elley helps improve communication, understand conflict patterns and rebuild connection. She recognises all relationships face challenges and supports everyone involved to connect more clearly and responsively, transforming conflict into opportunities for deeper understanding, stronger connection and healthier communication patterns. Elley guides individuals and couples through powerful processes of change, from places of pain and disconnection to lives of purpose and clarity.
