Elizabeth Archer-Trew is a registered Psychologist with over 25 years of experience supporting, individuals, couples, families. During this time, Elizabeth has helped many clients navigate their way through depression, anxiety, PTSD, relationship breakdowns, infidelity, blended families, trauma, abusive relationships, and helped them reach a place of calm and acceptance. Elizabeth is registered with APS and AHPRA, holding qualifications in both psychology and counselling.
Elizabeth appreciates the tremendous strength it takes to enter into counselling and sincerely respects the pace that clients set in exploring what has led them to counselling, as well as concerns they may have dealt with in the past. In doing so, Elizabeth aims to move clients from a place of pain and discomfort toward connection, recovery, and acceptance by providing a non-judgemental space for them to explore themselves and their relationships.
Together with a client-centred, empathic, and non-judgemental approach to therapy, Elizabeth utilises elements of rational emotive behaviour therapy, narrative therapy, person-centred therapy, the Gottman method, gestalt therapy, cognitive-behaviour therapy, schema therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, structural family therapy, solutions focussed brief therapy, emotional focussed therapy and internal family systems therapy, to create treatment unique to the client and their personal circumstance.
