Anne Arrowsmith is a highly experienced counsellor and family therapist, with 20 years of professional experience working with individuals, couples, and families. Anne is registered with the Australian Counselling Association as a therapist but also as a clinical supervisor providing supervision and support to other counsellors.
Anne's approach is practical and focusses on an individual's ability to facilitate change and tap into their innate wisdom and resources. Anne believes there is a strong mind-body connection influencing physical, mental, and emotional well-being; all are connected. Anne feels that the therapeutic environment is one of collaboration between therapist and client where they can work together to uncover those deeper issues impacting day to day life.
Each person has their own history and part of Anne's work is to explore that history beginning with childhood through to present day. Therapy can be short or long term and some people prefer not to delve too deeply so at times Anne's role is to work with the current issue and ways to resolve this in a time frame to suit the individual. To achieve this, and depending on individual needs, Anne uses various approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Schema Therapy, Mindfulness and Parts Work.
