Yolanda is a certified family connections trainer and regularly contributes to the development of her profession by doing lectures and trainings around trauma, distress and working with survivors of sexual assault.
Yolanda’s approach to practice is the view that we are all experts in our own lives and that the role of a therapist is to work with you so that you are able to be the best version of yourself. Therefore, she is collaborative, pragmatic and strengths based. Yolanda believes that anyone can benefit from therapy and that seeking help should be as comfortable as meeting a practical and warm friend for a coffee.
Because Yolanda believes that therapy should be centred on the needs of the individual client, she is trained and skilled in a variety of therapeutic interventions including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectal Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy, Mindfulness, Narrative and Brief Solutions Based therapies.
