Wena is an experienced therapist who has worked in many sectors including private, government and non-profit organisations. Her qualifications and professional expertise are underpinned by her extraordinary life journey, acute intuitive insights, and natural attributes, such as empathy and ability to listen. Wena holds a membership with the Australian Counselling Association, with experience in all areas of counselling and a keen interest in people with various addictions and family relationships.
Wena is down-to-earth, non-judgmental and committed to providing a safe space for her clients to explore their inner feelings. In her work as a therapist she helps to restructure those aspects of a person’s self that have been traumatised or challenged, so that they can experience feelings of joy and optimism again. Wena believes that everyone is doing the best they can with the resources that they have. She helps her clients to be solution orientated, so the focus is shifted from the problem to what steps can be taken to reach your goals.
Wena engages in a person centred, strength based approach ensuring her clients feel respected, understood and supported. Therapeutic techniques that Wena uses include Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy and Existential Therapy. These techniques are certainly tailored to the individual needs of each client, whether they are a child, adolescent, adult, couple or family group.
