Tessa Blencowe is a warm and empathetic professional counsellor with experience guiding young people and adults through a wide range of challenges. Tessa is registered with the Australian Counselling Association and has special expertise on loneliness and social isolation.
Tessa is passionate about helping people develop greater self-awareness and emotional resilience, and believes everyone is capable of growth and change. She recognises the value of improving our relationship with ourselves and sees this as essential for strengthening our relationships with others. Her approach is practical and evidence-based, with a strong commitment to honour you as the expert in your own life. She will support you in strengthening your sense of identity, empowerment and confidence, while also fostering a safe, judgement-free space for you to show up as you are, however that may be.
Tessa draws from a wide variety of resources and practical techniques to support those she works with. Her practice is informed by primarily Psychodynamic and Attachment Therapies as well as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Gestalt and Mindfulness. Tessa believes deeply in the power of being seen and heard and is committed to supporting you build a more connected, creative and meaningful life.
