Steve White is a mature and insightful counsellor with over 17 years’ professional experience. He has worked extensively in the community health and corporate sectors, and private practice. Steve provides effective therapeutic support to adolescents, individual adults, families and couples.
Steve has a respectful and collaborative approach: he is deeply committed to helping his clients overcome their challenges and achieve optimal wellbeing. Steve is skilled at assisting his clients to make sense of any problematic or recurring patterns of personal difficulty they are experiencing. He supports his clients as they identify beliefs, attitudes or feelings that are creating concern, and helps them to explore new ways of coping with conflict and stress. Steve’s clients are thus able to build resilience, self-awareness, and manage their issues effectively. Steve especially enjoys working with couples to enhance their communication and relationship skills.
Steve employs a number of effective, best practice therapeutic approaches in his counselling practice. He offers individually tailored sessions to meet the unique needs and circumstances of each client. Techniques and approaches that Steve uses include: Psychoanalytic-Oriented Psychotherapy, Imago Couples Therapy, and Emotion-Focused Therapy. Steve also offers specialist Critical Incident Debriefing for witness and employee groups, and works well with deeply distressed people. Steve is deeply committed to helping all of his clients increase their wellbeing in all areas of life.
