Shonah is an engaging and self-aware counsellor and psychotherapist who brings a breadth of life experience to her counselling. Shonah sees life as a journey of discovery. Much like a book, we can revisit old chapters, get stuck on a page or jump ahead. Even though what lies ahead is unknown and beyond our control, we can make choices about how to move forward. Asking for help is a good place to start.
A person-centered counsellor, Shonah is integrative in her therapeutic interventions. Sessions with Shonah draw on many evidence-based models of therapy, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness, Strengths-Focused Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy. Shonah also has an interest in Expressive Art Therapies which can be helpful for clients experiencing significant life transitions such as loss and grief.
Shonah is an authentic and compassionate counsellor, who provides a trusting, supportive and collaborative therapeutic relationship. She helps clients construct new ways of being and develop effective strategies to manage the broad concerns they may be facing.
Shonah walks the journey with each client as they discover new beliefs, emotions, thoughts and behaviours, and begin to write new chapters in their lives.
Shonah Tomkins has appointments available in the following location: Coburg
