Sarah is a skilled professional counsellor with over 25 years experience. Sarah has worked in many settings as a director of not for profit organisations, individual and family counselling, children’s and adolescents counselling, including her current role as owner practitioner of her private counselling practice. Sarah is registered with the Australian Association of Social Workers and supports clients of all ages, whether individually or as families and groups across a vast spectrum of life issues.
Sarah is passionate to impart that “within all of us is a wise compassionate self that knows how to heal and flourish”. She uses a strength based empowerment model, that really seeks to explore, support and collaborate with clients facilitating them back to themselves and to provide a platform for wholehearted living. Sarah is committed to helping her clients develop emotional and practical tools and strategies for life’s challenges. By understanding what triggers and supports us, Sarah helps facilitate self-awareness and empowerment for her clients.
Each session is specifically tailored for each client’s particular therapeutic requirements, as everyone is unique and this is truly honoured and celebrated each session. Curiosity about yourself and others and hope for yourself inform Sarah’s approach, which includes the incorporation of cognitive-behavioural therapy, solution-focused therapy, trauma-informed therapy, mindfulness and body based awareness, Gestalt therapy, strength-based therapy, art therapy, and nature therapy. Sarah genuinely believes that in connection with others we heal and grow, and is committed to you living in freedom, peace and happiness.
