Prue Gilligan is a highly skilled and compassionate counsellor with over 13 years’ experience in allied health services. She is an AMHSW member of the AASW. In addition to private practice, Prue has a substantial background working in the community health, non-profit and private sectors. Prue provides effective therapeutic support to young people, individual adults, families and couples.
Prue is warm and engaging, and has a client-centred approach to counselling. She is strongly committed to working collaboratively with her clients to help them improve their mental health, personal wellbeing, and ability to cope with stress. Prue also has substantial training and experience working with clients who are living with chronic illness, and complex trauma. Counselling with Prue is an opportunity for clients to explore any areas of concern, and use insights that arise to overcome life’s challenges and create positive change.
Prue tailors her counselling approach to suit the needs and values of each individual client, couple or family group. She uses a range of evidence-based techniques, including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Emotionally-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Psycho-Education. Prue is dedicated to helping her clients achieve their counselling goals.
