Paul Senior is an accomplished and insightful counsellor with over 25 years’ experience. He is a member of the AASW and the Resolution Institute of Australia. In addition to his private practice, Paul has a substantial background in mediation, dispute resolution and workplace counselling. Paul provides effective therapeutic support to adolescents, adults, families and couples.
Paul is grounded and approachable, his warmth and empathy means clients find him easy to relate to and safe to open up to. Paul is committed to building genuine and trusting counselling relationships with his clients. Paul’s ability to develop strong therapeutic relationships enables his clients to explore key concerns, including emotions, thoughts, barriers and aspirations with a view to enhancing self-awareness, confidence, building better relationships and competencies. Working with his client’s strengths, abilities and motivations and drawing on a range of practical tools, strategies and concepts, Paul facilitates and supports his clients’ self-development enabling them to flourish.
Paul engages with his clients in a collaborative, and supportive manner fostering opportunities to discuss concerns and develop solutions. He utilises a range of evidence-based therapy techniques such as; Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness Based Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy. He ensures that the techniques and therapy focus used are appropriate, tailored and specific to his clients’ needs.
