Paul Reid is a proficient and highly skilled counsellor, with extensive professional experience. He is a member of the Australian Counselling Association, and also supervises other counsellors in private practice. Paul is committed to helping his clients with a variety of personal, relationship and mental health concerns. He provides effective therapeutic support to individual adults and couples.
Paul has a supportive, non-directive and empathic approach that encourages his clients to speak as freely as possible. This allows his clients to explore different areas of their lives where difficulties have emerged. Paul helps his clients to explore these different aspects in a caring and encouraging way, supporting them to create deep and long lasting transformations in life. Paul is dedicated to assisting his clients find new ways of relating to themselves and the world, and helping them face life’s challenges with a greater sense of choice, flexibility and freedom.
Paul understands that each of his clients are unique individuals with their own subjective relationship to the world around them. With his person-centred and psychoanalytic approach to counselling, each session is tailored to be unique to the clients’ personal history, life situation and therapeutic needs. He draws from a range of therapeutic approaches including Lacanian Psychoanalysis, and Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy.
