Paul is an accomplished counsellor with many years’ experience including both locally and abroad. He is a member of the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia and has worked in a range of diverse settings with children, adolescents and families from various cultural backgrounds.
Paul is empathetic, compassionate and understanding in his counselling approach. He is committed to helping his clients develop effective strategies to overcome obstacles to mental health and improve their quality of life. Paul knows the positive impact that professional therapy can have on people’s quality of life, and strives for this outcome for each of his clients.
In counselling sessions, Paul helps clients to discover and explore barriers to wellbeing in lifestyle, thought patterns, behaviour patterns and fears. Clients are then empowered with healthy therapeutic techniques to put into practice and therefore attain the long term benefits through self-care.
Each session with Paul is tailored to meet the clients’ personal therapeutic needs. Paul uses an integrated approach to therapy which incorporates many contemporary models of counselling, including: Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Schema-Focused Therapy, Trauma-Informed Therapy, Mindfulness, and Solution-Focused Therapy. Paul’s approach is client-centred, and places emphasis on the goals and desired outcomes of the client.
