Member of PACFA
Patricia is a skilled professional counsellor with many years’ experience of supporting adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Patricia is registered with the PACFA and supports clients with a vast array of concerns, and she has a particular interest in relationships.
Patricia is committed to helping her clients develop effective strategies to address their concerns. Patricia’s dynamic and empathetic approach encourages her clients to be at ease. By exploring an area of concern and seeking insight into the underlying issues, Patricia’s clients create the conditions that make change possible. In this way, each counselling session can develop into a positive and uplifting experience. Patricia is insightful and outcome focussed. Patricia is committed to helping her clients become self-aware, because through this awareness clients are empowered to manage their own thoughts and feelings differently and to consider better ways to contribute to relationships.
Patricia believes during childhood and sometimes later in life, things interrupt our development and we become stuck in fixed patterns and beliefs about ourselves that get in the way of life. Patricia believes that everyone has the ability and resources to be in rewarding contact with other people and to lead a satisfying, successful, and creative life. Each session with Patricia is tailored to meet the client’s personal and therapeutic needs. Patricia uses an integrative client-centred approach to help you achieve this by drawing on her sound knowledge and skill of a number of evidence-based counselling techniques: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy and Relational Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Trauma-informed therapy, and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction.
