Nicki Weekley is an engaging and accomplished counsellor with over ten years’ experience. She is a member of the Australian Counselling Association and the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia. Nicki has worked extensively in private practice and in the non-profit and community health sectors. Nicki specialises in providing effective therapeutic support to adults, families and couples.
Nicki has a gentle, thoughtful nature and allows her clients to feel safe in an empathetic and encouraging environment. Nicki understands each person’s difficulties within the context of their personal life experiences. She helps them to explore and develop an understanding of themselves and an insight into their challenges. This is gained by empowering her clients with an understanding and knowledge of their emotions, thoughts and behaviours and the influence these have on each other. Through helping her clients manage these, they can begin their journey towards a positive outcome for both themselves and their relationships.
Nicki uses a range of approaches with the main focus on the individual or couple’s concerns and preferences. With the client’s needs in mind, Nicki will apply the most useful approach or approaches including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Emotion-Focussed Therapy, Gottman Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness. She is committed to providing individuals and couples with care and compassion, believing that each person is unique and requires a tailor-made, evidence-based approach to each session. Nicki is dedicated to helping people find a sense of calm, peace of mind and essentially a way to a better life.
