Naomi Iliffe is an insightful, compassionate psychologist with over 18 years’ counselling experience. She specialises in counselling services for children, adolescents, adult individuals, couples and families. Naomi is a member of the Australian Psychological Society, and the EMDR Association of Australia. She also provides consultation, training and supervision to other health professionals working with children, families and foster carers.
Naomi’s approach to counselling is both warm and respectful: she genuinely engages with her clients, and ensures they feel safety and a sense of trust whilst exploring their concerns with her. Naomi also has extensive experience in supporting a diverse range of psychological and emotional needs. She works with clients of all ages who find themselves in a place of change, uncertainty or pain. Naomi assists clients to deepen their self-awareness, clarify their needs and goals, and move forward confidently with their lives. Naomi approaches her work with clients with honesty, empathy and a little bit of playfulness. She feels a strong sense of honour and gratitude for those who trust her with their life story.
Naomi tailors sessions of counselling to meet each client’s unique needs, drawing on a range of effective, evidence-based counselling techniques. Therapeutic approaches Naomi uses include: Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (especially helpful for treating anxiety and trauma in children and adults), Play Therapy, and Psychobiological Trauma Therapy.
