Michele Watson is a dedicated and highly skilled psychologist with over 10 years’ professional experience. She is registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency, and is an associate member of the Australian Psychological Society. Michele has worked extensively in private practice, as well as the clinical health and community palliative care sectors. She specialises in providing effective therapeutic support to individual adults and families.
Michele provides a calm and reassuring environment in her counselling sessions where personal difficulties can be gently explored, and each client’s feelings and painful experiences are taken seriously. She attends to her clients’ emotional distress, helps them learn new skills, and addresses deeper long-standing issues. By exploring the reasons why clients find themselves stuck in painful feelings or caught in difficult situations, pathways to change can appear. Michele helps her clients identify the source of their distress, and provides practical tools and strategies to overcome personal challenges and achieve optimal wellbeing. She is dedicated to helping her clients enhance their self-awareness, learn new skills, and create a better quality of life.
Michele tailors her counselling approach to meet the unique needs and circumstances of each of her clients. Therapeutic techniques that Michele uses include: Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Transpersonal Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Person-Centred Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Michele has a strong commitment to supporting her clients as they address their personal difficulties, form positive relationships with others, and achieve their life goals.
