Michael has been practicing as a psychotherapist and counsellor for 10 years. He is recognised as a clinical psychotherapist by PACFA, the peak psychotherapist body of Australia, and is a full member of the RCAA, the peak body for Rehabilitation Counsellors in Australia. Michael has worked with a wide cross-section of clients, aged 7 to over 80, and with a wide range of issues, particularly but not limited to anxiety and depression.

Michael strives to strike a balance with his clientele, offering unconditional acceptance, while also focusing on goals and strategies to make progress. Michael places a high value on honesty and genuineness, as they form the basis for a lasting therapeutic relationship. Sessions can be practical or philosophical. Our focus is on the here and now. Mindful awareness of the moment helps uncover unhelpful beliefs and thought processes. It is important to Michael that his clients know that he takes their mental health and wellbeing very seriously and strives to support and centre them. Expectations for therapy always differ, and the issues addressed initially may evolve; we are always changing.

Every client, and each session, offer a new story to tell – the importance of your story is held in the highest regard. Within each story we can find thoughts, beliefs and feelings. Using a therapeutic style designed to explore those stories, Michael seeks to heal and empower.
