Matthew is an engaging and skilled counsellor with many years’ experience working in both the public and private sectors, in education and social welfare. Matthew provides effective therapeutic support to a range of diverse clients, though works mainly with adolescents and adults.
Matthew is warm, empathic and supportive. He aims to work collaboratively with clients, assisting them to reshape their experience and address areas of concern. Through identifying core values and goals, Matthew’s clients learn ways to overcome barriers in a practical way. Matthew offers a nonjudgmental environment where clients can feel safe and encouraged throughout the therapeutic process.
Matthew’s approach is flexible and client-centred, tailoring each therapeutic session to the individual and their needs. He incorporates elements of various therapeutic models into his practice including; Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness based therapies, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy.
