Matt is a highly regarded and impactful counsellor with a wealth of knowledge and skill from practicing for over 20 years. He has extensive experience working with couples and families and also in effectively helping individuals navigate their way through a range of challenges. Matt’s experience includes providing supervision to other counselling practitioners.
Matt is outcome focused and insightful, who engages empathically with clients incorporating a range of counselling modalities in his work. These include Systemic Family Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Solution Focused and Mindfulness based approaches. Matt believes in empowering clients so that they can be the best they can be at managing their lives and relationships. Matt aims to draw on the strengths of the clients with whom he works at the same time providing opportunities to explore helpful personal insights. Matt can also assist clients regain control over their lives and interactions with others by providing useful tools and techniques.
Rather than a ‘’one size’’ fits all approach, Matt works within the uniqueness of each client at a pace and style that suits them. Clients can expect encouragement and hopefulness, at the same time gaining a sense they are working toward positive outcomes for themselves and their relationships with others. Matt strives to help clients reach for personal peace of mind and overall mental health and wellness.
