Lindsay Swindells is a professional counsellor with experience supporting clients through life’s challenges. He is a registered member of the Australian Counselling Association and the Australian Community Counselling Association and is committed to best evidence-based practice. He is compassionate and driven to help adolescents, adults, and couples achieve balance, improve communication, restore clarity, and shape their futures with confidence.
Lindsay is outcome focused and takes time to understand each person’s story, knowing everyone has their own set of characteristics and experiences that make them unique. His approach is grounded and practical, yet dynamic and able to capture the complexity that each individual brings. With a client-led approach, he lets the process unfold naturally, gently offering insights into areas of a person’s life and patterns of thinking. He maintains an uplifting attitude whilst facilitating transformative and lasting change.
Lindsay practices with a person-centred approach and adopts a range of models and techniques including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Solutions-Focused, Existential Therapy, Trauma-Informed, Mindfulness Based Therapy, and the Gottman Method of Couples, and Relationship Therapy. Lindsay comes from a place of kindness and knowledge and believes the key to well-being is an open mind to promote personal growth and balance in all areas of life.
