Leigh Lonsdale is an insightful, skilled and professional counsellor who brings extensive experience into the room.  She is registered with the Australian Counselling Association and has committed decades to working with adults and couples who come facing a broad range of issues and life events.  Leigh has a particular interest in development of the individual, and of relationships.

Leigh brings an empathetic and easy-going energy into the counselling arena, and is passionate about providing a counselling experience which enables each client to face their challenges with confidence, feeling supported.  Often, there are old behavioural patterns, thought processes and self-beliefs formed in our younger years that play out in unhelpful ways today, outside of our awareness.  The skills Leigh brings into the space, guide clients to a place of deeper self-awareness and understanding around these, enabling clients to explore their present circumstances with greater clarity, putting the power back into their own hands by determining which beliefs, values and thoughts are serving them and letting go of unhelpful ones.  Leigh has witnessed clients many times over, create life-long change, both for themselves and within their relationships using these direct, evidence-based practices.

Each client brings their own unique story, and Leigh believes that each counselling session needs to reflect that.  She draws upon a range of modalities dependent on the individual needs, including Narrative, Mindfulness and Gestalt therapies, NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), Polyvagal theory and Person-Centred counselling.  Whether your challenge is depression, anxiety, grief/loss, personal growth, or relationship issues, Leigh is committed to helping her clients live meaningful, purposeful, and fulfilling lives.  She does this by allowing her personal life experience to inform her and by continually educating herself and bringing new understandings and skills into the counselling relationship.
