Leigh has built a career in the human and social services starting in 1992 working with children, the elderly, and adults along with children with a disability. With her significant experience Leigh has strengthened her counselling skills and knowledge in many areas including: family violence, depression and anxiety, child development and parenting support, relationship support, change transition/adaptation, post-diagnosis chronic health management, mental health recovery, alcohol and other drugs change/recovery and anger management.
Leigh works with a distinct emphasis on helping others to develop and maintain resilience, through guiding and supporting change or grief and loss processes. Leigh won’t tell you what to do but she will provide a safe place to think about all the options with a focus on growth. She will also teach you about brain chemistry and offers some coaching in how best to learn to emotionally care for yourself, especially when going through a tough time.
Leigh has a particular interest in assisting with transition processes with a generous emphasis on building on individual strengths, instilling resilience, fortifying coping capacity and encouraging self-care and being/feeling well. Leigh works with individuals and facilitating information, training, awareness raising &/or therapeutic groups.
