Kylie is a counsellor and psychotherapist with over 25 years’ experience working across health, community, educational and corporate settings. She is an accredited member of the AASW and a member of GANZ, and works with individual adults at her private practice.
Kylie’s therapeutic style is warm, engaged and gently curious. Her interest is in understanding how clients’ current experiences make sense in the wider context of their lives. Kylie works collaboratively with clients to develop awareness. She supports clients to understand themselves more fully and compassionately so that they can respond to their current issues, and to their broader life experience, with greater choice and flexibility. More specifically, her intention is to create a welcoming space that supports clients to explore and understand their difficulties, allow their emotions, strengthen their supports, and experiment with new ways of relating to themselves and others.
Kylie values the therapeutic relationship as the ground for healing and growth. Her core training is in Relational Gestalt Therapy, and this approach underpins her practice. She is also influenced by her training and experience in Mindfulness-based therapies, Yoga Teaching and Relaxation Therapy.
