Diploma of Counselling
Kim Stanton has worked in the mental health field for many years and has supported families, couples and individuals navigate a pathway through tricky situations in life. Kim is a qualified counsellor registered with the Australian Counselling Association. Through her experience Kim has gained a board understanding of many counselling concerns and has formed a particular interest and respect for carer’s and for those living with a mental health condition. This has led Kim to develop and enhance her skills to deliver the support they require to better understand their conditions and grow as an individual.
Kim is committed to helping her clients develop effective strategies to address their concerns and strengthen relationships with themselves and others, and envisages counselling as an opportunity. By exploring an area of concern and seeking insight into the underlying issues and impacts, Kim helps her clients create the conditions that make change possible. In this way, each counselling session can develop into a positive and uplifting experience. Kim is committed to helping her clients find new ways to manage life’s challenges, with a focus on health and wellbeing.
Each session with Kim is tailored to meet the clients’ personal therapeutic needs. Kim incorporates many contemporary models of counselling into her practice, including: Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness, Person-centred Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy. Kim uses an integrated, client-centred approach, and is skilled at helping her clients address a variety of issues.
