Kim Seow is a certified counsellor with a Master of Counselling and Psychotherapy. Kim holds membership with the Australian Counselling Association. She has extensive experience working with adolescents and adults from all walks of life across a broad range of presenting issues including anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship issues, low self-esteem and difficult life transitions.
Kim is impactful while also bringing a calming presence into the therapy room to help clients feel grounded and gain clarity in their circumstances. By offering a highly supportive space, clients feel comfortable expressing and processing their thoughts and emotions freely without fear of being judged. Through her counselling experience, Kim has observed that even when someone feels deeply stuck or hurt, there is often more resilience and wisdom present than they realise. Her approach is to work with clients collaboratively to develop greater self-awareness, uncover their inner strengths, and promote a kinder relationship with themselves. Kim's greatest satisfaction comes from clients reaching a point where they no longer need her support. She is passionate about equipping clients with practical tools they can use confidently outside the therapy room, so the changes they make in session carry into daily life.
Each session is tailored to the individual, drawing on a range of well-established therapeutic approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Trauma-Informed Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy and Internal Family Systems Therapy. Whatever brings a client to counselling, Kim's aim is the same: to help them leave each session a little clearer, a little lighter, and a little closer to the life they want.
