Jo’s approach encourages her clients to relax, as she creates an environment for exploring any life challenges and possibilities of moving forwards differently. She is committed to supporting her clients’ progress by working with them collaboratively and assisting them to develop effective ways to manage their concerns, both short-term and long-term. Jo’s clients can make changes or improvements by building on their own strengths and can create unique outcomes specifically to suit their personal experiences and life situation. Each counselling session is an opportunity to build a positive and healthy outlook. Jo is committed to guiding her clients to find new ways to manage life’s challenges, with an overall focus on personal growth and wellbeing.

Jo knows well that during life, various experiences can interrupt development, goals, and dreams, and learning to work through situations can be challenging as well as rewarding. Each session with Jo is specifically concentrated on her clients’ personal therapeutic needs to help reframe those interruptions in a satisfying and more positive way for clients. Jo uses an integrated, client-centred approach, drawing on many contemporary models of counselling, including Interpersonal Therapy, such as Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Skills Training, Solution Focused Therapy, and Positive Psychology Intervention strategies for relaxation.

Jo believes counselling is a positive step that demonstrates strength towards improved wellbeing and happiness and encourages clients to achieve a satisfying experience.
