Jessica is a counsellor, psychotherapist and social worker. She holds a master’s degree in social work, an advanced certificate of relational gestalt counselling and is a mental health accredited social worker, making sessions eligible for Medicare funding. Jessica is a member of the Australian Association of Social Workers, the Australian and New Zealand Infertility Counsellors Association and the Fertility Society of Australia.
Jessica has many years’ experience working in counselling and therapeutic roles, across the public, private and not for profit sectors. Jessica has worked with adults and young people from diverse ethnic backgrounds, gender identity and sexual orientation in a variety of community, hospital and custodial settings. Jessica is experienced working with individuals and couples, as well as facilitating therapeutic groups. Jessica works with people experiencing a wide variety of issues, and has particular expertise in the areas of infertility and IVF, as well as both victimisation and perpetration of violence, family violence and sexual assault.
Jessica is a Gestalt trained psychotherapist. Her practice is informed by trauma and attachment theories and incorporates aspects of Mindfulness, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Jessica practices from a relational approach privileging self-awareness, self-acceptance and the therapeutic relationship as vehicles for change. Jessica’s interpersonal style is warm and respectful, creating a safe reflective space for people to explore their interior world, identify unhelpful patterns and develop individually tailored strategies for lifelong change. Jessica is passionate about social justice and creating happier, healthier humans for a more compassionate world.
