Jessica Dolev is an empathetic and skilled counsellor with over 15 years’ experience working in a variety of settings. She is a member of the AASW and supervises other counsellors in clinical practice. Jessica provides effective therapeutic support to children, adolescents, adults, couples and families.
Jessica is insightful, caring and solution focused and she has a warm, compassionate and practical approach to counselling. By exploring an area of concern in life and seeking insight into underlying issues and impacts, Jessica’s clients are empowered to create the conditions that make change possible. Jessica is committed to helping her clients find new ways to manage life’s challenges, by working collaboratively, taking into account all factors impacting each client.
Jessica believes that each person’s emotional response to a situation is uniquely complex, and based on their own personal experience and life circumstances. Jessica draws on a number of counselling techniques into her practice, and tailors sessions to meet client’s personal needs. Jessica uses a client-centred and strengths-based approach, and is skilled at helping her clients address a variety of issues. Techniques that Jessica uses include: Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Systemic Family Therapy, Trauma Informed Counselling, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Recovery-Oriented Therapy, Parenting Strategies, Play Therapy and EMDR therapy which is an amazing therapeutic intervention for trauma related concerns.
