Jeanette Shepherd is an industry leading senior counsellor who has been in practice for over 35 years. Jeanette believes that counselling is for everyone, not only for people experiencing a significant crisis or a challenging life transition. Throughout our life, we can at times feel stuck, uncertain, or want to improve the quality of connection within our intimate relationships, family or workplace. Jeanette draws on her extensive experience and uses highly effective methods to help all her clients manage life’s challenges, including relationship difficulties and trauma related experiences.
Jeanette recognises the unique life experience of every person that she meets, and she draws upon a range of approaches and strategies to enable each client to explore the issues that bring them to counselling. She works with clients at their own pace, to help them understand their past experience and current situation, and set goals to achieve life-enhancing outcomes. Jeanette has a deep understanding of the client experience and ensures a respectful environment where you are empowered in the whole process. She will provide you with all the right support, knowledge, suitable effective strategies and guidance you require to take each step.
Jeanette works with individual adults, couples and families, and uses a range of approaches in her counselling practice. According to the needs of each person she will draw on Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness. Jeanette also uses a broad selection of psycho-educational resources to create understanding and awareness, and inform and support you through your journey.
