Jane is an accomplished counsellor with more than 10 years of professional experience. She is a clinical member of the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia and participates in ongoing personal development and supervision. Jane has worked in a range of diverse settings both here and in Ireland within the private, public and non-for profit sectors. Jane has vast experience working with adolescents, adults and couples who present with issues ranging from mild anxiety or relationship difficulties to survivors of trauma and high-risk crisis intervention.
Jane knows that the human experience includes times of worry, distress and suffering and believes that with the right support and care these experiences can not only be endured, but transformed into positive change, growth and ultimately fulfilment and happiness. Jane’s natural curiosity and connection with people is present in all areas of her work and her therapeutic foundation is one of genuineness, acceptance and empowerment.
The client’s individual needs are at the core of every session and Jane will work in a very real way to help clients identify and acknowledge their needs and work with them towards getting them met. The therapeutic interventions Jane incorporates into her work are all from evidence based treatment modalities and include Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and trauma informed practice. Jane values and welcomes each client’s individual experience and will tailor her therapeutic approach to provide the most personal and meaningful experience possible.
