Jane Kennedy is a highly skilled counsellor with decades long professional experience. Jane supports individuals, couples, children, and adolescents across a wide range of presenting issues and is fully registered with the Australian Counselling Association.
Jane’s experience has led her to focus on implementing accessible ways to support clients in their day-to-day lives. She works with practical tools for regulating emotions and empowering clients to understand their own reactions and apply coping skills. Jane believes in the power of the connections and relationships we have with others and their ability to ground us. For Jane, it is therefore also important to develop a professional therapeutic relationship with her clients so that counselling sessions with her can act as a mirror for unconscious behaviours and patterns, and a guide towards growth.
Jane uses evidenced-based approaches to therapy including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical-Behaviour Therapy, Somatic Experiencing Trauma Therapy, Mindfulness, Breathwork and Narrative Therapy. She works through a Polyvagal Theory (nervous system) informed lens. Jane is committed to supporting clients to heal and grow, find grounding within themselves and flourish.
