Jan Roberts is a counsellor with many years of experience. She is a member of the Australian Counselling Association and works with a wide range of people, from adolescents to adults, from individuals to groups.
Jan’s empathetic and compassionate nature puts her clients at ease. In collaboration with the client, Jan explores their needs, expectations and strengths to help make their life journey a little easier. We all need support and help at some time in our lives. Jan helps the client to connect to their mental, physical and social aspects in a calm and non-judgmental environment. This increases the clients understanding of self and their world. Therefore, enabling the client to manage and better enjoy their lives.
Jan incorporates various types of counselling techniques depending on each clients’ situation which includes but is not limited to Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Positive Psychology, Trauma informed care, Family therapy and Group therapy which consist of understanding family dynamics through Genogram therapy. Jan is a certified SOLAR (Skills for Life Adjustment and Resilience) coach. She can assist with trauma and those that have experienced traumatic events.
