Ian is an insightful and highly skilled counsellor with well over 20 years’ experience, and is a level 4 member of the Australian Counselling Association. In addition to private practice, Ian has a background working within therapeutic and clinical settings in both the private and community sectors. He is passionate about offering therapeutic support across a range of issues to children, adolescents, couples and families, and he has the experience to do this with sound knowledge and a skilled approach.
Ian has a compassionate and authentic counselling style. He offers a safe space where clients are supported to explore their current situation. Ian empowers clients to move through the barriers preventing them from living a full and satisfying life. Ian’s down to earth approach is grounded in the here and now, honouring the client’s lived experiences. The deepening of personal awareness promotes creative alternatives and healthy choices around unwanted patterns of behaviour.
The counselling journey is a joint collaboration with the client; each session is tailored to meet the client’s personal needs. Relational Gestalt Therapy as well as holistic counselling practices, influences Ian’s counselling practice. This dynamic person centered approach assists clients to move beyond their current situation towards a well-lived life.
