Ian Waugh is a highly skilled counsellor with more than 20 years of experience in the field. Ian holds level 4 membership with the Australian Counselling Association which reflects both his level of experience and competency. Ian is highly regarded by both his peers and clients.
Ian is passionate about offering counselling services across a range of issues to children, adolescents, couples and families. He has the experience to do this with sound knowledge and a skilled approach. Ian offers an opportunity for clients to genuinely explore their circumstances and possible opportunities to develop themselves and improve their circumstances. He empowers clients to move through the barriers preventing them from living a full and satisfying life. Ian’s approach is grounded in the here and now, honouring the client’s lived experiences. The deepening of personal awareness promotes alternative ways of being and healthy choices around unwanted patterns of behaviour.
The counselling journey is a joint collaboration with the client and each session is tailored to meet the client’s personal needs. Relational Gestalt Therapy as well as person centred practices are central to Ian’s approach and they support his clients to move beyond their current situation towards a well-lived life.
